T Score to P-Value Calculator
This calculator converts t-statistics to p-values using the Student's t-distribution.
About the T-Distribution
The t-distribution is used when estimating the mean of a normally distributed population when the sample size is small and the population standard deviation is unknown. It is similar to the normal distribution but has heavier tails.
When to Use
- Small sample sizes (typically n < 30)
- Population standard deviation is unknown
- Conducting t-tests for means
- Calculating confidence intervals for means
Degrees of Freedom
The shape of the t-distribution depends on the degrees of freedom (df). For a one-sample t-test, df = n - 1. For an independent two-sample t-test, df = n₁ + n₂ - 2.
